WHAT IT YIELDS FOR YOU
Your own electricity, even in the evening.
During the day, solar panels often generate more electricity than you consume. Without a battery, this surplus is fed back into the grid, and from 2027 onwards, the compensation you receive for this will be reduced. A home battery allows you to store your excess power for use in the evening.
We serve the entire Leiden area. You can also rely on our services in the neighbouring municipalities of Leiderdorp, Oegstgeest, Voorschoten, and Zoeterwoude.
Increased self-consumption
Consume a greater portion of your solar energy yourself, rather than feeding it back to the grid for a low return.
Greater energy independence
Reduced exposure to rising energy rates, feed-in charges (terugleverkosten), and expensive peak hours.
Ready for 2027
On 1 January 2027, the salderingsregeling (the Dutch net metering scheme) will come to an end. A battery system absorbs a significant portion of this loss.
YOUR GRID CONNECTION
Your connection in Leiden: Liander (grid operator/netbeheerder)
In Leiden, Liander is your netbeheerder (regional grid operator). Liander operates as the netbeheerder across large parts of Noord-Holland, Gelderland, Flevoland, and Zuid-Holland. Liander manages the cables up to and including your electricity meter; everything beyond that point is your own private installation. You do not need to apply for a permit for a home battery, but you must register it via energieleveren.nl, just as you would with solar panels. If you require more capacity—for instance, for an EV charging station or a heat pump—an upgraded grid connection may be necessary. You can request this from Liander. We are happy to advise you on whether an upgrade is required.
